DaBaby has released a statement apologizing for homophobic comments he made during his set at Rolling Loud Miami, and in light of more festivals cancelling his appearances at Lollapalooza, the Governors Ball, and Day N Vegas.  At Rolling Loud, DaBaby said to the audience, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up” among other homophobic remarks.

DaBaby wrote on social media, saying in part: “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important.” DaBaby previously apologized for his comments last week, saying he never intended to offend anyone:  “Anybody who done ever been affected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody,” the rapper tweeted. “So my apologies, but the LGBT community. I ain’t trippin’ on y’all, do you. Y’all business is y’all business.”
